This stack contains a miscellaneous collection of external commands (XCMDs) and functions 
(XFCNs) for Hypercard, together with some documentation on how to call them. 

The XCMDs and XFCNs are grouped as follows (click on a topic for further details):

    •  Standard File Package positioning. Arrange for the Open and Save dialog boxes of applications 
        to open at a specific folder before you “open” an application.

    •  File utilites. Rename, move, delete files. Retrieve their creation and modification times.

    • MultiFinder utilities. Sublaunch* an application (with optional attached document), check to 
        see if MultiFinder is active, check to see if a program is running.

“Sublaunching” means that you can launch an application from Hypercard, and Hypercard keeps on running. Of course, you'll need enough free memory to hold the application.
